Board of Directors

Military Family Resource Centres reflect the understanding that family services and support are within the control of the individual and the community. MFRCs are governed by a community-based volunteer board to ensure accountability and responsiveness to the needs of their own particular community. Board members represent community residents and clients, and generally reflect the population of the community. They may also be professionals and others who have expertise in some area.

The composition of an MFRC board must include at least 51% civilian spouses of CF members.

The MFRC-NCR is federally incorporated because its mandate spans two provinces, Ontario and Quebec.

The Board is an independent employer that is funded to work in partnership with the local Commander (Commandant of CFSU Ottawa) to serve CF families.
